As the poster shows, matters regarding
ITHAQUA (Wendigo, ‘The WInd Walker,’)
are very significant in “The Mythos Murders.
For over forty years Mark Sawyer has been a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft, the Cthulhu Mythos, and the many authors who’ve contributed to it.
Some of what Mark has said in this regard:
“To bring about “The Mythos Murders,” a really good film based on Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos, is a dream come true.”
“We all worked to keep the film in line with Lovecraft’s vision of the Mythos — some of the non sequiturs are intentional, and even some of those will be ‘fixed’ when (may it occur) Mythos Murders II is made. “
“Lovecraft and what he brought about — I wonder if he ever understood how broad an impact his works would have. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Clark Ashton Smith, and so many others — these guys were incredible.”
“I’d like to think I’ve read all of their works, but I keep looking.”
“Lord Dunsany, of course, stands as a beacon. In his literature he was to Lovecraft, as Jonathan Winters was in comedy to John Belushi and Robin Williams.”
CTHULHU…
Certain Lovecraft fanatics believe he still dwells in R’yleh — May he not be disturbed.
Acclaimed author L. Sprague DeCamp with Mark’s brother, Phillip E. Sawyer.
NOTE –
‘The Mythos Murders’
was actually produced by Mark’s second movie production company,
‘Mythos Murders Films.’
(Yes, that is ‘Films.’
The sequel has been plotted out and is ready to go.)
Sandra Scragg’s ‘Grace Productions‘
and
Bry Troyer’s ‘Top Secret Pictures‘
also deservedly received Producer Credits.
